The blackbuck is a medium-sized antelope with ringed, unbranched, corkscrew horns that rise above the head of males in a tall, V-shaped pattern native to India and Nepal. They are found throughout Texas but mainly in the hill country. They have a gestation period of 5 months. Blackbucks prefer to graze on short to mid-length grasses but also browse on common brush species. They are a small antelope with the males averaging around 100 lbs. Blackbuck can be hunted year-round.
